Baltimore bookstores, then and now

My friend Ned Balbo sent me a link to a poem recently published in Antioch Review by my friend (and his partner), Jane Satterfield. “Last Dinner at Louie’s with Levis” paints a vivid portrait of both the poet Larry Levis and the much beloved but now defunct Louie’s Bookstore and Café near the Washington Monument, located where Ixia used to be (why is everything in Baltimore located where other things used to be?). I’ve included a link to the poem in the Baltimore Bookstores map I created for the Book Places exhibit– thanks to Ned and Jane for sharing!
